February 25 i'm running a hostelor at least, i think that's what my poor roommates think...revolving door of my friends crashing for a night. I love it really though. I have the greatest friends.
The way i picture seattle in my head is basically how this weekend went, activity wise:
This weekend Grace and Eli Ravines were in town. So, Friday was a BBQ in their honor, with their crazy family, and then we went out to the hookah bar for a taste of home. I am really starting to love that place...it feels like the wadi (arab quarter in haifa) and i swear i always leave so much more at peace. They had a belly dancer, so it was good times. We couldn't get over how much the vibe felt israeli. We did a dimsum lunch in the international district and met up with Sean Gronich. Sean, who has finally escaped from the grips of Sin City, came b/c Celina and Chantelle were in town to hang out with the Fallahi clan. We hung out most of the evening over there---with a quick escape for me to the UW Baha'i club Ayyam-i-ha party a rainy 12 block walk away.
Okay..so the Walgreens pictures. I needed gum. Fahdad needed a plunger to use as a bat for the pinata. I don't think i have laughed so hard...it was mission impossible and the walgreens staff was not nearly as entertained as we were!! bah, bah, bah.
Today's mission involved doing my favorite tourist stuff in Seattle. Brunch at Dish in Ballard, a trip to the Pike Public Market, and visiting with the Fremont Troll. (although i couldn't figure out why there were girls in prom dresses there with some fake oscar looking award). However, Sean and i agreed though that the home visit we did to one of the older baha'is was the highlight of the day. She's in a nursing home kinda place, on her way "out" and is super super funny. I think she and i are going to try to get through Ruhi Book 4 together since she hasn't had the chance and really loves the history of the Faith.
So, that's my tale of the weekend. I would have loved to spend the week up the mountain boarding since we just got oceans of snow, BUT i got a job--YUP AM EMPLOYED!!! If you aren't some random blog stalker than you either already know what it is, or you can ask personally.
February 19 what i've been up to.Time rolls on....interviews roll on....my mind is starting to roll on....
Quick update as to what i have been up to....and pictures of it to boot.
Trev came to visit, which was fabulous!! Lots of good conversation and coffee.
Went to a Sonics v/s Suns game (until half time--had to leave for hockey) with Amy, Mahn, and Devin.
AND this past weekend, i went to British Columbia for a snowboard trip to Mt. Washington with Todd, Zinnia, Kristian and Sherwin. Victoria was great--got to see Emily again and go salsa dancing along with Nabz and Laila (who are friends from Haifa and NC respectively), and darth vader was furiously playing the violin in front of the mall. Lots of laughs! Saturday, conditions on the mountain were blizzardy, couldn't see anything and was completely soaked and completely happy. The car got stuck for a few minutes b/c about 10 inches of snow fell while we were boarding. Sunday was like spring skiing conditions....lots of sun....fun runs and ending with a super super tasty dinner at the Rezvani's, complete with discussion of the merits (or lack thereof) of balut, a filipino duck egg thing.
So that's my story.... February 08 virtual tour for my daddyMy parents are irked that i haven't blogged anything. I told them the crazies on the bus didn't deserve their own blog....and its been a rough week, so i haven't had anything particularly entertaining to tell. Todd was here so i got my ass kicked at backgammon...um, i'm trying to get Ryan to come down soon...contemplating going to san francisco next weekend and aside from that i am applying for everything with the word assistant in it that comes up on about six web sites.
in the mean time, my daddy suggested i put up some pics of the apartment---a virtual tour.
so here are the pics. i live on the second floor of our three level townhouse. The top level is the master bedroom...and i am not putting up pics of that or the other bedroom, as they are obviously NOT mine :) |
